Sing - The Movie

This is a 2016 animated film which features singing animals.  Mr. Buster Moon (a koala) is an owner of a theater.  He is having financial trouble, so he came up with an idea of a singing contest as he told his best friend, Eddie Noodleman (a Suffolk sheep).  Originally, the prize was $1,000 but Ms. Karen Crawley (iguana), Mr. Moon's assistant, mistakenly typed $100,000.  Unknown to Mr. Moon, the tremendous response was because of the prize of $100,000.

Among the hundreds of animals who auditioned,  only the following were chosen:

Rosita - a  mother pig of 25 piglets with a workaholic husband.  She was paired with another pig Gunter for dancing routine.

Mike - the street musician mouse who during the day of the screening was mobbed by three big bears demanding money from him.  Mile pointed at the Mr. Moon for the cash prize but when they broke the chest, there was only few money inside.  Because of this, the bears became aggressive that made the theater crack and eventually broke the water tank where the luminescent squids were.  That moment destroyed the whole theater and Mr. Moon's career.

Johnny -  the mobster's son gorilla who does not want to be part of his father's illegal activities.

Ash - porcupine who was dumped by his boyfriend after she was the only one chosen from the audition.

Meena - the shy elephant did not make it during the audition because she was not able to sing due to her stage fright.  On her grandfather's persuasion, she tried auditioning again but ended up as a stage hand and later on was added as act when some of the acts quit.

Mr. Moon was trying to convince Eddie's grandmother, Nana Noodleman, a former opera singer and stage actress, to sponsor the event but she was hesitant but still agreed to watch the screening.  During that screening, the theater was totally destroyed that also destroyed all Mr. Moon's plan.  Depressed and hitting rock bottom, Mr. Moon was not convinced  by the casts to stage again a show but he refused instead he opened up a car wash, the same way his father earned money from for the theater.

This is the best part when Eddie told Mr. Moon:

One good thing about hitting rock bottom? There is only one way to go but UP!

Mr. Moon and Eddie
While doing the car wash together, Mr. Moon heard Meena singing Hallelujah in the rubble of the theater.  This made him decide to reopen the theater and make a show.  So they did will all improvised theater.  The first few audiences were their families but later on the crowd gathered in the theater because they saw the performances on TV.  Even the dad of Johnny who was in prison escaped when he saw his son on TV to see him in the theater and reconciled.  The show was a success that impressed Nana who bought the lot and the theater to rebuild it.

This movie is highly recommended for people to get inspirations from these animals who like humans have different situations in life, had ups and downs and even hitting rock bottom, but still chose to survive.  They may have failed but once again stood up to take another chance to sing once again.
